Professional profile

I trained at the University of Oxford, gaining my medical degree as well as a degree in Physiological Scienced. As a junior i have worked in Oxford, Newcastle, and London Teaching Hospitals.

I have worked at The Christie since the year 2000, becoming a Consultant after completion of my specialist traininng in Clinical Oncology in 2007.

My practice is primarily related to Lymphoma and other haematological disorders (giving chemotherapy and radiotherapy). In terms of referrals, the patient population I serve generally covers West/North West/Central/North East Greater Manchester. I have an interest in treating young people with Lymphoma, and these patients are referred to me from across the region, to be treated on The Young Oncology Unit at The Christie.

I also practice Paediatric radiotherapy, and have a particular interest in using advanced radiotherapy to reduce the risk of late effects of treatment, as well as an in interest in particle therapies (including Proton Therapy).

A main interest of mine is patient information giving, and have done some research into this as part of a national strategy looking at patient's lives after treatment of cancer. I run a Young Persons Survivorship Course here at The Christie and have been developing treatment summaries and care plans for patients to use.
