Vasectomy

A vasectomy works by preventing sperm from reaching the semen, which is ejaculated from the man's penis during sex. The surgeon cuts the small tubes that carry sperm out of the testicles under a local anaesthetic. The ends of the tubes are then closed by tying or sealing them with heat.
