Femoral hernia repair

A femoral hernia develops when tissue or part of the bowel pushes into the femoral canal (the channel through which large blood vessels travel in and out of the leg). A femoral hernia may appear as a lump in the groin in the inner upper part of the thigh and requires surgery (hernia repair) to prevent the hernia from strangulating.
