What is entonox gas?
Entonox is a combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide (known as laughing gas) breathed in by women in labour to control pain and is normally known as "gas and air". The mixture of gases is inhaled through a mask or mouthpiece during painful contractions. Gas and air pain relief works very quickly, and should not cause you or your baby any side-effects.
