- ASSIST employs experienced therapists trained to work with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and after-effects of trauma.

- The British Association for Immediate Care (BASICS)
- BASICS helps people suffering injury or illness by providing immediate medical care.
- British Medical Association (BMA)
- The BMA is the doctors' professional organisation established to look after the professional and personal needs of our members. The BMA represents doctors in all branches of medicine all over the UK.
- Care Quality Commission (CQC)
- The CQC is a new independent watchdog for healthcare in England. It assesses and reports on the quality and safety of services provided by the NHS and the independent healthcare sector, and works to improve services for patients and the public.
- Council for Environmental Education (CEE)
- The CEE is the national membership body for organisations and individuals in England committed to environmental education and education for sustainable development.
- Consumer Health Information Centre (CHIC)
- CHIC is an advice service set up to help people deal with everyday healthcare problems.
- Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (CPPIH)
- CPPIH ensures the public is involved in decision making about health and health services in England. A non-departmental public body, the CPPIH will be dissolved by August 2007 and its functions will be retained in the patient forums.
- Department of Health (DH)
- The DoH is a government department that exists to improve the health and wellbeing of people in England.
- European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP)
- EPUAP was created to lead and support all European countries in the efforts to prevent and treat pressure ulcers.
- Gingerbread
- Gingerbread is the leading support organisation for lone parent families. Gingerbread and One Parent Families recently merged to provide better support and a bigger voice to 1.8 million lone parents and their children throughout England and Wales.
- The Health Foundation
- The Health Foundation is an independent charity working to improve the quality of healthcare across the UK and abroad.

- Healthtalkonline is an excellent award-winning website that lets you share in other people's experiences of health and illness. You can watch or listen to videos of the interviews, read about people's experiences and find reliable information about conditions, treatment choices and support.
- Health Protection Agency (HPA)
- The HPA's role is to provide an integrated approach to protecting UK public health through the provision of support and advice to the NHS, local authorities, emergency services, other Arms Length Bodies, the Department of Health and the Devolved Administrations.
- Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA)
- The HFEA is an executive non-departmental public body that licences and monitors in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), donor insemination and human embryo research in clinics. The Authority also regulates the storage of sperm, eggs and embryos.
- Human Genetics Commission (HGC)
- The HGC is the UK government's advisory body on new developments in human genetics and how they impact on individual lives. The HGC gives the government advice on human genetics with a particular focus on the social, ethical and legal issues. One of the Commission's key roles is to promote debate and to listen to what the public and our stakeholders have to say.
- The King's Fund
- The King's Fund is an independent charitable foundation working to improve the health of Londoners.
- Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
- The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is the government agency responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are acceptably safe. No drug product is risk-free, so the MHRA aims to produce robust and fact-based judgements to ensure that the benefits to patients and the public justify those risks. The MHRA keeps watch over medicines and devices and takes any necessary action to protect the public promptly if there is a problem.
- Mental Health Act Commission (MHAC)
- The MHAC is a special health authority that reviews operation of the Mental Health Act 1983 in relation to patients detained under the Act and proposes amendments to the Secretary of State. A new health and adult social care regulator will be responsible for the sectors currently regulated and monitored separately by MHAC, CSCI and the Healthcare Commission.
- Monitor (Independent Regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts)
- Monitor regulates NHS foundation trusts, making sure they are well-managed and financially strong so they can deliver excellent healthcare for patients.
- Myocardial INfarction Audit Project (MINAP)
- The MMyocardial INfarction Audit Project (MINAP) began in late 1998 when a steering group developed a dataset for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The data has allowed doctors to examine the management of myocardial infarction within their hospitals against targets specified by the National Service Framework for Coronary Heart Disease (NSF).
- National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)
- NICE is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health in the UK. The Institute advises on cost-effectiveness and efficacy of treatments available on the NHS.
- National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA)
- The NPSA is a special health authority that coordinates the efforts of all those involved in healthcare to learn from patient safety incidents occurring in the NHS.
- National Statistics Online - Health Statistics Quarterly
- The National Health Statistics Quarterly covers the latest trends in the UK's health. The quarterly releases contain commentary on the latest health findings and regularly updated statistical graphs and tables. It also highlights trends in health, and details the latest quarterly information on deaths, childhood mortality, cancer survival, abortions, congenital anomalies and morbidity.
- National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA)
- The NTA works to improve the availability, capacity and effectiveness of treatment for drug misuse in England. A special health authority.
- NHS Choices
- NHS Choices is intended to help you make choices about your health, from lifestyle decisions about things like smoking, drinking and exercise, through to the practical aspects of finding and using NHS services in England when you need them.
- NHS Direct
- NHS Direct provides high quality health information and offers specialised health advice for patients via a telephone service. NHS Direct also offers commissioned services to other parts of the NHS to help them meet their patients' needs.
- Patients' Association
- The Patients' Association provides the public with healthcare support and information.
- Patient and Public Involvement Forums
- A group of independent bodies that allow the public to influence NHS services by expressing opinions.
- Patients Talking
- Patients Talking is a free, self-help service for people experiencing health problems for the first time through the sharing of medical experiences of those who have been through a similar situation.
- Patient Information Advisory Group (PIAG)
- PIAG was established to provide advice on issues of national significance involving the use of patient information (data) and to oversee arrangements created under Section 251 of the NHS Act 2006. Membership is drawn from patient groups, healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies. PIAG meets six times per year.
- Resuscitation Council UK
- The Resuscitation Council UK educates both lay and healthcare professional members of the population in the most effective methods of resuscitation appropriate to their needs.
- Royal College of Surgeons
- The Royal College of Surgeons of England is committed to enabling surgeons to achieve and maintain the highest standards of surgical practice and patient care.
- Royal Institute of Public Health & Hygiene (RIPHH)
- The RIPHH promotes the advancement and development of public health and of hygiene in all its aspects
- Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB)
- The RPSGB is the professional and regulatory body for pharmacists in England, Scotland and Wales. It also regulates pharmacy technicians on a voluntary basis, which is expected to become statutory under anticipated legislation. - Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP)
- The RCGP is the UK academic organisation for general practitioners. Its aim is to encourage and maintain the highest standards of general medical practice and act as the ‘voice' of general practitioners on education, training and standards issues.

- The RCN represents nurses and nursing and promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies.
- UNICEF UK
- UNICEF UK is one of 36 UNICEF National Committees based in industrialised countries that advocate lasting change and rights for children. For example, UNICEF UK's Public Affairs Team works to change government policies and practices that are detrimental to children's rights in the UK and internationally.
- World Health Organization (WHO)
- WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.

- General Chiropractic Council (GCC)
- The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) is a UK-wide statutory body with regulatory powers, established by the Chiropractors Act 1994.The Councils duties are to protect the public by establishing and operating a scheme of statutory regulation for chiropractors, similar to the arrangements that cover other health professionals, set the standards of chiropractic education, conduct and practice and ensure the development of the profession of chiropractic, using a model of continuous improvement in practice.

- British Council for the Prevention of Blindness (BCPB)
- The BCPB raises funds for the prevention of blindness in the UK and in the developing world. SEE also finances research work at UK hospitals and universities into all the major causes of blindness, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
- Macular Disease Society (MDS)
- MDS aims to build confidence and independence for those with central vision impairment and is the only UK charity dedicated to helping people with macular degeneration.
- ORBIS
- ORBIS UK is part of an international charity dedicated to saving sight worldwide through education. The primary vehicle for ORBIS's work is a converted DC-10 jet housing a complete eye hospital and teaching facility.
- Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB)
- RNIB is the country's leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people in the UK with sight loss.

- British Lung Foundation (BLF)
