    The trust says...

‘In 2010/11 Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT) actually performed 41 AAA procedures as recorded on the National Vascular Database (NVD). Eight of these cases were incorrectly coded in HES data and therefore were not available for the Dr Foster Hospital Guide analysis. Using data from the NVD the BTHFT mortality was a comparatively low 3.7% for elective AAA. As a result of the Yorkshire and Humber SHA review of vascular services from 2011 BTHFT, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust have formed a vascular network to provide vascular services across the west of West Yorkshire. AAA surgery will take place on two sites (Bradford and Huddersfield). Together the centre will undertake 50-60 AAA procedures per year.’
