The 50-bedded Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading has two major operating theatres - one of which is equipped with laminar flow. This is a special clean air system which reduces the risk of infection during operations. The hospital has four critical care beds, and always has at least two staff on site with Advanced Life Support training. The hospital has a mobile MRI scanner. This is better than x-rays for scanning the soft tissue in the body.

Other diagnostic services offered by the hospital are x-ray, ultrasound and mammography. A wide range of cancer services are offered at the Dunedin. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative care are all available. There are also surgical services for breast cancer and bowel cancer, and both of these units are BUPA-approved.
