The Exeter Nuffield Hospital has 46 beds and provides a range of private medical services to the city and the surrounding parts of Devon. The hospital offers surgical services for both breast and bowel cancer, and both units are BUPA-approved. Chemotherapy is also available to treat the condition. The hospital has two critical care beds, and there are always at least two members of staff on site with Advanced Life Support training in order to help in the event of an emergency. A range of diagnostic services, including CT and MRI scans, x-ray, ultrasound, bone densitometry scans and mammography is available at the hospital. Physiotherapy services are available, with special treatment for sports injuries. There is a gymnasium on site to help with treatment and rehabilitation. The hospital does not perform surgery on children under the age of three, but is able to operate on youngsters between the ages of three and twelve.
