The Blackheath Hospital is an acute surgical hospital offering a wide range of services and facilities to the residents of South East London and beyond. There are 69 beds with all rooms offering the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone. The hospital has 3 major operating theatres and also a new, separate endoscopy suite with minor theatre and 3 critical care beds. The Blackheath Hospital is dedicated to continuing investment in the most up-to-date facilities for their patients and has recently opened a new building at Winchester House Medical Centre to service all outpatient requirements. This contains twenty spacious consulting rooms, 2 minor treatment rooms, radiology, physiotherapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy and health screening departments.
A brand new Imaging Suite in the main hospital has also just opened, housing the most powerful CT and MRI scanning machines available on the market. As one of the few hospitals in London to use these state-of-the-art scanners, a whole new variety of imaging techniques have become available offering rapid, high quality scanning and increased patient comfort. The hospital also offers BUPA approved breast and bowel cancer units, chemotherapy facilities, paediatric surgery for children aged 3 years and above, pain management, allergy testing and cosmetic surgery. These facilities and services, combined with the latest in technology and on-site support, enable the consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery. This specialist expertise is supported by caring and professional medical staff, with dedicated nursing teams and Resident Medical Officers on duty 24 hours a day, providing care within a friendly and comfortable environment.
