Queen Margaret Hospital is one of the most modern and best equipped District General Hopitals in Scotland. There are 342 acute inpatient beds.
The hospital provides a range of general hospital services to the residents of West Fife (population approx 160,000) and a regional service in Urology, Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Maxillofacial Surgery and Nephrology There is a dedicated Day Surgery Unit (24 beds), a 6 bedded Intensive Care Unit and a 5 bedded Medical High Dependency Unit. Two fully equipped endoscopy rooms operating throughoutt the week. There is also radiology support for ERCPs.

There is an excellent Radiology Service including Specialist Vascular Interventional Radiologists for nephrostomies, angiography and embolisation.
There is also a spiral CT scanner and MRI scanner. Mammography and ultrasound scanning are also on site.
There are close links with the medical and clinical oncologists at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. They run regular outpatient clinis on site and visit inpatients.
There are 8 main theatre suites including a dedicated fully staffed 24 hour emergency theatre. The Endoscopy facilities include ERCP and oesophageal stenting available on site.
