Address & description

At NGH our whole focus is on improving the quality of care we give to our patients by providing services that are clinically effective, safe and provide the best possible experience.
Our patients are asked to provide real-time feedback on how they feel about their stay at NGH by using the Dr Foster Patient Expeience Trackers. We have also introduced random patient satisfaction telephone calls to patients who have been discharged from hospital. In this way we can quickly identify and respond to any issues of concern and ensure the care we provide meets patients' expectations.
We are proud that mixed sex accommodation has been virtually eliminated in our hospital and considerable progress has been made in modernising a number of our ward areas. We have also undertaken extensive modernisation works to our public spaces and corridors.
Our new day surgery unit at NGH has three dedicated theatres, fifteen beds, three patient assessment rooms, same sex waiting areas and a children's and faily waiting area. It is used exclusively for adults needing day case surgery and children needing inpatient and day case surgery. We have also invested to improve the facilities in endoscopy and ophthalmology.
In January 2010 we began direct online booking for outpatient appointments. Patients can either phone the appointments line or can choose where and when they have their appointment by booking over the linternet, or booking at their GP surgery.
We continue to offer outpatient consultation and day case surgery at Danetre Hospital in Daventry, including general, oral and plastic surgery, ophthalmology, ear nose and throat, urology and orthopaedic procedures. The unit has its own team of dedicated staff, who work to a high level of efficiency. Often patients are seen by their GP in the morning and have their x-ray at Danetre the same afternoon.
We are committed to developing and improving our services to achieve our aim of providing the safest, most clinically effective acute services in the country, focused on the needs of the patient.
