Address & description

Newham University Hospital NHS Trust (NUHT), a 379 bed Acute Trust, serves one of Britain’s most diverse, fastest growing and youngest populations. We are an organisation which is firmly focused on meeting the needs and priorities of our local population. This is demonstrated in the way services are developed, the ways in which we listen to and engage patients and local residents, and how we are shaping our social responsibility agenda as a local employer and provider of training.
Many local people have complex medical and social needs and some find the way that the NHS traditionally delivers services difficult to access. Our strategy is focused on providing excellent care, specialising in meeting the particular needs of our community and delivering the best treatment and support as close to patients’ homes as possible, in partnership with community and specialist providers.
Our experience and expertise in delivering key infrastructure projects has meant we have attracted substantial investment over the past few years with new buildings, access roads and many other environmental improvements. We are also ground breaking amongst NHS organisations for our approach to embracing the sustainability and carbon reduction agenda and have won national recognition for our work in this area.
With major developments such as the 2012 Olympics and Stratford City on our doorstep, we are ensuring our workforce is ready to meet the new challenges and opportunities which these will bring us and our local population.
