Hull and East Yorkshire Eye Hospital cost £6m and features three theatres, 12 inpatient beds, and a day case and pre-assessment unit. When it opened in 2002 the hospital doubled the Trust capacity to perform cataract operations. The Hospital is a regional training centre for laser eye surgery and has recently received one of only three laser trainers in the UK.
