Ealing Hospital

Ealing Hospital is a district general hospital in West London located in the Borough of Ealing and a recognised teaching Hospital of Imperial College, London University. The Trust provides a wide range of medical and surgical secondary care services. Ophthalmology services are provided on site by Moorfields Eye NHS Foundation Trust and a satellite renal dialysis unit is provided by the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Trust has a total of 398 beds (including maternity, day case, ITU and paediatrics).

Our vision is to be the local hospital of choice for the people of Ealing and to continue to provide high quality standards of care in the best possible environment for both patients and our staff.

The Borough of Ealing, our main catchment area serves a population of just over 300,000 people. Patients attending the Trust come from a multi-cultural, relatively young population with a considerable spectrum of social and economic status. This has important implications for the type of healthcare that Ealing Hospital provides, in addition to indicating trends for the future.

We were recognised for providing excellent clinical services in 2004, when one of our Cardiology Professors was awarded 'Hospital Doctor' of the year and our Cardiology Team was recognised as 'Hospital Cardiology Team of The Year' at the national Hospital Doctor Awards.

In 2006 the Trust opened a state of the art MRI Unit and a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. These new facilities now available at the Hospital continue to enrich and enhance the quality of diagnostic services for local people.

Approximately 1,550 staff work in the Trust. We are an accredited Investor in People and have achieved Improving Working Lives Practice Plus status. In 2006 our Nursery was the first NHS Trust to be awarded Children's Centre Status by the Department of Education & Skills.
