The Hospital is very proud of its many achievements including being named, for the seventh year running, among the top performers in the country's 40 Top Hospitals programme assessed by CHKS, the country's leading hospital benchmarking company, who acknowledge that patients treated in a Top 40 Hospital are safer and less likely to pick up hospital acquired infections such as MRSA, and being awarded the highest level under the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) for both general medical and surgical services and for the separate category of maternity services, making us one of the safest Trusts in the country. In addition the most recently released figures from the Health Protection Agency show our consistent approach to cleanliness continues to pay off and once again we have the lowest rates of MRSA and C.diff in the North West and among the lowest in the country.
