Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock

Inverclyde Royal Hospital is a modern, 370-bed District General Hospital situated in Greenock, Inverclyde, approximately 30 minutes from Glasgow. It serves a population of around 125,000 in the urban and rural areas of Inverclyde, Largs, Bute and the Cowal Peninsula. Inverclyde has high areas of unemployment and a significant part of the population live in designated areas of priority treatment, generating high levels of demand for health care.

Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich

The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust provides a range of general acute hospital services to a catchment area comprising approximately 326,000 people in, and close to, the east Suffolk area. The Trust also provides a number of tertiary and specialist services, such as spinal surgery and cancer surgery to a wider population, as well as outreach services in a number of clinical specialties. Across its 46-acre site, the Trust employs nearly 3,200 whole time equivalent NHS staff. In June 2008, the Garrett Anderson Centre opened, and provides the Trust with significant opportunities to improve clinical services to patients.
