Basildon University Hospital, Basildon: A university associate teaching hospital and one of the first Foundation Trusts, particular focus is on reducing patient recovery time through keyhole and day surgery and endoscopy (diagnostic investigation) procedures. The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre which opened in July 2007 is based on the Basildon University Hospital site. Full range of outpatient clinics and day surgery also at Orsett Hospital.
Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke: Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust (BNHFT) provides acute hospital services to a population of around 300,000 patients in Basingstoke, Tadley, Alton and Bordon as well as surrounding towns and villages in north and mid Hampshire and west Berkshire. The majority of services are provided from Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, which was built to the north of Basingstoke town in the 1970s; but we also provide outpatient and assessment services from the Alton and Bordon community hospitals.

Birmingham Children's Hospital, Birmingham: Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is located in the City Centre, at a Victorian site formerly occupied by the General Hospital. As well as being a general children's hospital for Birmingham, 'The Children's' is a regional, national and international centre for specialised treatments, and has a world-class reputation in several areas of provision. It also provides one of the largest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the UK provided from a range of community sites across the City. It will celebrate its 150th year in 2012.
Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham: There has been a hospital on the Birmingham Heartlands site since June 29th 1895, when the first patient was admitted suffering from smallpox. 1978 saw the world's last smallpox case admitted to the hospital. The original hospital was established to provide treatment in isolation for those suffering from Tuberculosis and Diphtheria. Since that time the hospital has grown into one of the largest in the country with the site changing beyond recognition.

Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Blackpool: Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust treats more than 90,000 inpatients and 200,000 outpatients a year. The trust's accident and emergency department is one of the busiest in the country with nearly 90,000 attendances a year. As well as Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which is a large acute hospital, the trust manages eight community hospitals, a Child Development Centre and the National Artificial Eye Service.
Borders General Hospital, Melrose: The Borders General Hospital is a modern and well-equipped district general hospital serving the Borders area in South East Scotland. The hospital has 293 acute beds, including a 15-bed Medical Assessment Receiving Unit. There is a new CT/MRI unit at the hospital. The hospital provides acute services, as well as inpatient, day-case and outpatients facilities for most specialties, in addition to cancer services. There is also a dedicated 15-bed stroke unit.
