Research interests

I head a Translational Research Facility at the St Mary’s Campus of Imperial College London, which encompasses a metabonomic, genomic, proteomic and in vivo imaging research approach. My major research interests include pathogenic and biochemical mechanisms of liver injury in patients with cirrhosis and the pathogenesis of hepatic encephalopathy. I am currently using magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to investigate these areas and each week, I spend regular research sessions on these projects.
