Professional profile

My favourite operation is the bone conserving thrust plate or hip resurfacing operation. The average age of my patients is below 50 years and this operation restores an active life-style.

Tissue engineering operations like autologous chondrocyte implantation and stem cell treatments of fracture non-unions are rather experimental but potentially very important in the treatment of early arthritis. These may be combined in the knee with meniscal transplantation.

I also find ankle replacements very helpful in appropriate patients, and hip arthrscopy is something I specialise in.
