nternationally: Editor in Chief Phlebology (International Journal of Venous Disease) Established internet based International Venous Registry used to access performance in the management of venous disease. President of the European Venous Form (2006/2007), presented at numerous international meetings on topics on vascular disease. Established International Magazine - Venous Times. Invited participant at academic summits to develop guidelines
Management: Clinical Governance role incorporating ( Risk, management and service development and effectiveness) and have previously taken on a lead responsibility for Trauma and development of national guidelines on patient management.
Service Work: I have continued to run a busy tertiary vascular service and have developed an Endovenous Treatment Service (2005) and also having in conjunction with our Radiological Colleagues, increased our endovascular workload.
Research/Education: Have supervised research students, edit/written more papers, chapters and text books; reviewed and obtained grants from numerous award giving authorities. Editorial Boards. Have been promoted to Professor by Imperial College in 2008. President of UK Venous Forum. Head of Year 3 at Imperial College.
1. Perform a large number of tertiary vascular procedures (including revisional renal access) as well as the standard vascular procedures. I perform over 80 carotid endaterectomies per year.

Research interests
The clinical trials/studies I have run have altered NHS practise for patients: vein graft surveillance, claudication, varicose vein treatment and leg ulceration. Leading to improved assessment and cost saving. The basic science research with the Kennedy Institute: evaluating the mechanisms involved in atherosclerosis and varicose veins.
International Venous Registry (web based established by myself, Dendrite Clinical Systems and International Venous organizations) has enhanced the global understanding of venous disease
