Profile
After studying medicine at Stellenbosch University in South Africa Mr le Roux trained in Surgery in the UK, obtaining the FRCS in London. He specialised in Urology at Groote Schuur Hospital and the University of Cape Town and was appointed consultant urologist and senior lecturer to Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University Medical School in 2000.
Mr Le Roux developed a laparoscopic urology unit at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals where he performs major laparoscopic urological surgery on a regular basis. His other clinical interests include oncology, stone disease and reconstructive surgery.
In 2002 the South African Urological Association awarded him with the Storz prize, a traveling fellowship awarded once every two years to the outstanding young urologist in South Africa.
