Qualified as a doctor from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1993. After junior house officer posts, served as a Demonstrator in Anatomy at Leeds University. Undertook core training in Surgery in General at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. This included a period as SHO in the hospitals' renouned orthopaedic department. After obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, returned to London for specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Worked as a SHO and knee research fellow at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). Appointed to the registrar training programme of the Royal Free and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospitals. This included training at these hospital and others in London and Essex. In particular included a period at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Also included a period as the Clinical Academic Training Fellow at the RNOH. Obtained Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Appointed as a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery, with a special interest in revision hip and knee arthroplasty.
Other contributions to the NHS
I undertake an out-reach orthopaedic service for the Royal Free at Edgware Community Hospital.
In addition the PCTs musculoskeletal traige and assessment service is supported from this location.Serve as orthopaedic advisor to the Barnet Primary Care Trust's musculoskeletal Referral Assessment Service.
