Niall Kirkpatrick is a Consultant Plastic surgeon in the Craniofacial & Orbito-Palpebral Surgery Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, where he is the lead clinician. He is a member of the multidisciplinary team for the management of skin cancers at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He is also a Consultant Plastic surgeon at Charing Cross Hospital, London, where he is a member of the Head and Neck Unit. He qualified in both Medicine (MBBS) in 1990, and Dentistry (BDS) in 1984, from Guy’s Hospital, University of London. After completing training in General surgery and becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1996, he trained in Plastic surgery and was accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast) in 2001. He has also completed a post-graduate doctoral thesis and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 1996 from the University of London. He is included in the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register for Plastic surgery.
During his Plastic surgery training, Mr Kirkpatrick obtained specialist training fellowships in Craniofacial surgery at both Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and in Head and Neck surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He also obtained a specialist training fellowship in Aesthetic surgery at the Wellington Hospital, London.
Mr Kirkpatrick’s special interests, in his NHS practice, are Craniofacial and Reconstructive Facial surgery. In private practice he undertakes all aspects of Cosmetic and Aesthetic surgery, as well as Reconstructive and Craniofacial surgery. He has published extensively in the medical literature and lectures both nationally and internationally. He has active research and teaching programs at the Chelsea and Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals. Mr Kirkpatrick is medical director, and one of the team of surgeons who work for the charity ‘Facing the World’.
