The Orthopaedic department at Guy's hospital is organised into subspecialties, with the hip service provided by myself and David Nunn. As such our elective workload is exclusively adult hip surgery, and as well as performing large volumes of primary hip replacements, Guy's is the regional referral centre for complex primary and revision hip arthroplasty, osteotomies round the hip, including periacetabular osteotomy, for adult acetabular dysplasia, hip arthroscopy and hip complications in sickle cell disease, renal disease, malignant disease and SLE.
