Mr Lok Huei Yap is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He has a Plastic Surgery Practice with interests in complex reconstructions of the head, neck, nose, ear and eye, as well as specialising in a range of advanced cosmetic procedures.

He graduated with honours MB BCh BAO from the National University of Ireland, 1991. After extensive general surgical training in Hong Kong and Ireland, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1995, then obtained the UK Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery (Intercollegiate) in 2003.

He is a recipient of the British Journal of Plastic Surgery Prize, the Ethicon Foundation Fund Scholarship and the British Association of Plastic Surgeons Travelling Bursary.

Mr Yap has successfully completed a Clinical Fellowship in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the well-known Wellington Hospital, London, UK, working with some of the best known surgeons in the field of facelifts, browlifts, eyelid surgery, liposuction/abdominoplasty and breast cosmetic surgery. Mr Yap also completed a Craniofacial Fellowship (facial reconstruction of the child) at the renowned Great Ormond St Children’s Hospital, London, before being appointed Consultant Plastic Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust in 2003.

Subsequently, he was awarded a year-long Plastic Surgery Fellowship (Microvascular Surgery) at the world-famous University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas, USA, and most recently completed a Clinical Fellowship in Autologous Ear Reconstruction in Tokyo, Japan.
