Professional profile

I work at the world renowned, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Middlesex. I specialise in disorders of the hip and knee joints. A large part of my practise involves complex cases, often referred from other consultants all around the country. This includes revision joint replacement, with a particular interest in infected joint replacements and multiply revised hip and knee replacements. I also do a lot of hip replacement on young adults who have had previous problems, like congenital hip dislocation or Perthes' disease. My knee practise consists of both arthroscopic and joint replacement work. I do a lot of meniscal surgery and am one of a limited number of surgeons fully trained in cartilage transplant surgery. I perform anterior cruciate reconstructions using arthroscopic techniques. I do partial and total knee replacements and will use patient specific techniques, including custom built cutting tools and advanced materials where appropriate. Many of my patients are young and have problems following knee trauma or unsuccessful previous surgery. My revision knee surgery practice includes revision for infection, fractures and poorly performing primary implants.

Personal profile

I am married with two young children. I love travel and particularly anything to do with water. I am a qualified rescue diver with a real love of underwater photography. On the water I enjoy sailing and waterskiing particularly. Away from water, I am a keen photographer, particularly of wildlife. I am a big formula one fan and always happy to watch a rugby union match.
