Professional profile
I qualified in Cardiff and trained in Edinburgh, Nottingham and Southampton.
My early training included General Surgery, Urology, Paediatric, Vascular Surgery, Transplantation and Accident & Emergency Surgery. I completed my higher surgical training in Southampton. I was first appointed as a Consultant in 1990 to St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight where I have spent most of my consultant career. I moved to Portsmouth in 2003.
I have an interest in the surgery of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I accept referrals regarding most adult upper and lower limb conditions. I undertake Arthroscopies at the Knee, general Hand and Foot Surgery including excision of Ganglia and other swellings, Carpal Tunnel Decompressions, Dupuytren’s contractures, Trigger Finger and de Quervain’s, Hallux Valgus & other Toe Deformities as well as Primary and Revision Joint Replacements at the Hip and Knee. I started an osteoporosis clinic on the Isle of Wight in 1990 that I continued for several years and this remains an interest.
