Mr Goldberg, studied medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School (Imperial College London) graduating in 1994. He obtained fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and Ireland in 1997/8 and then spent a year in full time research working towards a higher degree (MD) in cartilage repair techniques, where he was involved in the initial clinical trials of cartilage transplantation in the UK. He was awarded an MD from the University of London in 2006. His specialist training was on the North East Thames Programme, and he became a consultant in 2009.
Mr Goldberg specialises solely in foot and ankle conditions including ankle sprains, arthritis, cartilage injuries, ankle replacement, arthroscopy, bunions, claw toes and complex foot and ankle problems. His practice is entirely focussed on listening to patients needs and outcomes based treatments. He was awarded an OBE in the 2011 Queens New Years Honours List for services to medicine.

His specialist training was on the North East Thames rotation in Trauma & Orthopaedics with several specialist fellowships in complex foot and ankle disorders.
Mr Goldberg is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Europes largest Orthopaedic Hospital, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust where he has a joint appointment with UCL as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Trauma & Orthopaedics. He runs a pioneering research program exploring regenerative treatments including cartilage transplantation; the effects of Stem Cell Therapy on Achilles Tendinopathy; and a national clinical trial comparing ankle replacements against ankle fusion. He was also responsible for the creation of the National Joint Registry for Ankle Replacements.
He sits on the Scientific Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS), and is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, and the American Orthopaedic Research Society. He sits on the Health Innovation Council at the Department of Health, has authored several text books, and peer reviewed publications as well as being Editor-in-Chief for the highly successful Clinical Talk Series of textbooks.
