Personal profile

Dr Malik studied at Cambridge University and then Guys Hospital London. He completed his cardiology training in London, and was awarded a PhD at Imperial College. He has an active interest in Information Technology, and has pioneered a web-based electronic referral system that is now widely used. His research Interests include structural heart disease-in particular hole (PFO, ASD)in the heart closure and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Intervention (TAVI). He has lectured and written book chapters about Carotid Artery Stenting (CAS) and has authored papers on coronary angioplasty research.
He was Commissioning Editor for HEART, a leading cardiovascular journal, and is a National Clinical Lead in the Heart Improvement Program.
