Professional profile
I originally trained as a General Practitioner gaining experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. I have worked as a clinical assistant in Psychiaty and Genito-urinary medicine. For 5 years I undertook work as a clinical forensic physician (police surgeon).
From doing part-time "factory work" to benefit my Practice I proceeded to obtain a formal Occupational Medicine qualification (AFOM) and then to undertake formal training in the specialty from 1999 - 2003. In this capacity I have worked with a variety of employers including the foreign office, a police force local government and educational establishments and manufacturing and service industries.
I chair a regional audit and governance network for Occupational Physicians. I also advise the fitness to practise panels of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
