I am Lead Clinician for a busy Endocrinology and Diabetes service at St Helier Hospital and Epsom General Hospital and also provide a clinical service in General Medicine. Specialist Diabetes services are based in purpose-built Diabetes Centres on both sites. A full range of investigational and clinical services in Endocrinology is provided in collaboration with colleagues at the Atkinson Morley Department of Neurosurgery, St George's Hospital, London, and at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
I have a particular interest in the pathogenesis, sequelae and management of polycystic ovary syndrome, as well as other problems in gynaecological endocrinology. I also see patients with a wide range of other endocrine and metabolic problems, including pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid and testicular disorders, diabetes mellitus and obesity and hyperlipidaemia.
I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Endocrinology, Chairman of the Specialty Training Committee for Diabetes and Endocrinology (South London with Kent, Surrey and Sussex), Regional Specialty Adviser for Diabetes and Endocrinology and Deputy Regional Adviser to the Royal College of Physicians.
