Professional profile
After qualifying at St Mary's Hospital in London in 1994, I undertook junior hospital appointments in London (St Mary's Hospital, Royal London and Royal Brompton Hospitals) and in Portmsouth (WQueen Alendra and Haslar Hospitals). Therafter I joined the Wessex Cardiology rotation. I transferred to the Birmingham Deanery after year 4 to do an MD in endothelial dysfunction. TI completed my final 18 months of Cardiology training specialising in heasrt failure, cardiomyopathies and complex device therapy (ICD and CRT).
I have always mainatined a keen interest in atrial fibrillation with a focus on it during my MD. I have a developing interest in Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing and lead the service locally in Poole Hospital. This service is highly vaulable for the assesment of certain patients with shortness of breath, heart failure and for disability evaluation and for preoperative assessment amongst others.
Research interests
I have an extensive research background, but this has been curtailed since commencing my NHS appointment but I do hope to renew this interest in the future.
